oil change

i recently got my c50 and it sat for a long while before i picked it up. 3 years in fact. the previous owner said that he had changed it during the non use. and the stealership said that the oil was fine. like im going to belive them. what should i do? should i change it or wait till the 600 mile mark. by the way it only had 26 miles on it! it is an 05

Just in case you didn't get the idea...change the oil. Heck, I'd change all the fluids. Sitting for 3 years can't be good.

I'd probably ride the 600 miles. Oil only gets acidic due to exhaust chemical buildup, and engines aren't as fragile as some seem to think. If there's been any corrosion from moisture condensation (doubtful), it's too late anyway. It would be different if you didn't know how many miles were on the oil.

I would flush the brake and clutch fluid a.s.a.p., though. They're hydro-something-or-other and collect moisture over time. The manual calls for changing it by now anyway. It's easy enough to do with some tubing.
