oh come on, I'm all set up and I can't activate?!

He did get me to check our software version beforehand, and we were at v150. Isn't that the most recent version? That would explain why Milan didn't tell me to go to 198 and power down, as we were already at the most recent version?

You need a remedial course in fractions. ;)

So here we go... Automated receiver activation fails (~75%)... Call EV customer service for activation, that fails (~50%)... They say I must wait 24 hours. (That's 100% BS but most company policy is.) Call tech support several hours later and try again. Channels show up while talking to the tech (or maybe not...(~50%) In which case he tries again.) This happens so repeatedly I think it may be a technical issue with their software. That many CSRs and techs cannot be that incompetent.

Half of me wants to agree with you 100%
Half of me wants to agree with around 75%
And the final half thinks its about 50-50 split, or a quarter dozen, whatever you choose
I have had activation issues as well in the past , adding theme packs, and then not getting all the channels we were paying for...another phone call, more waiting...
finally the channels come in, but not after some frustration
The CSR's usually seem to be doing their best, but some fessed up that Raptors TV was not checked off, or .......
Better than telling me I should have left the receiver on 198 though

It was actually not ExpressVu that told me to go to 191. It was the printed documentation given to me by Future Shop. It told me to either go to 191 and activate via that channel, or to call SKY DISH.

Ah that makes more sense.

It is Old documentation at FS.....

More instore Training required.....lol

Yes V150 is the most recent version. Milan, if it's the same guy is a good tech. I'm surprised that he didn't get your receiver going!

If your software was V150 there was no reason to go to channel 198, software was already up to date.

Thanks for the fed back on that application Nimiq 1. I think only techs were told to use it, it's the first time I hear of it

Codes for every EV remote address are available on the Harmony site. Just do a search for a matching remote using the software.

Thanks, that's great news. I did not know that. My husband did the Harmony configuration the other night while I was napping and waiting for our receiver to activate and it's usually me who configures the Harmony. I'll check out Harmony's site after work today.
