yea! how did I forget about Arkona! That was the first Russian Folk metal I heard back when that Ukranian guy Andry gave me all his music! I must have listened to that CD a hundred times. I think I have their demo also. I still gotta go through shit.

I definitely have at least 2 albums though. not sure on the names though.

yeah it seems like in Europe they are a little faster to lump everything into the "pagan metal" category rather than separate it. I guess the term pagan metal has been around longer there. Pagan Metal has more to do with lyrical content than sounRAB though, a lot is just Black Metal. I'm still a pretty big Nokturnal Mortum, Graveland/worm, Hateforest etc fan, its just a different sound.

Their equipment kept breaking during the recording so they weren't able to finish and they couldn't afford to buy new equipment. I saw Katatonia with Insomnium and Swallow the Sun a few months back and Wintersun's drummer Kai Hahto was playing with Swallow the Sun. It was a tiny venue so when he got off the stage I was able to talk to him for a while (nice guy) and he said it should be out in early 2008.

so I finished the download but since the album isn't out yet its just a sample. its got all the songs but dude comes in every 30 seconRAB and says "you're listening to the new heidevolk album, walhalla wacht". so I just pre ordered the CD off their web site, doesn't come out till next Tuesday though
