Offical PS3 Headset problem?

A lot of people are having this problem but I hopefully found a soulution.

"I pressed start scan and hit the power button on the headset at the same time.
I held the power button down, and after about a minute, it recognized it ( I hear it may take up to two minutes). I then put in the pass code, 0000 and I was good to go. I don't know if it matters, but I had the cradle connected via usb cable and the headset out in my hand."
 
I have had the headset for about 8 months and it has worked perfectly but now I get this error when I try to turn it on, It says on the tv error during connection 80121607, And when I try to turn it on it makes a small beep then kind of a white noise. Btw it came with the socom bundle.
any help would be appreciated
