Has anyone tried to get off drugs by taking Subaxone? I have a dr. appt tomorrow with a pain dr. to try it. One very important question I have... When I wake up in the morning I have burning pain really bad on my lower back where I had 4 operations. Would this be withdrawel symthoms starting after 8 hrs sleep or just bad pain? I would hate to have this expense & then find out it was just pain from surgery. Thanks for your quick reply!!!

Hi tazmaggie. I started suboxone in February 2009 and it has been a life saver. I truely mean lifesaver too because I don't know where I would be right now if it weren't for suboxone. I know as much as I was abusing pain meRAB that as soon as I woke up I was starting to withdrawal. I even at times woke up in the middle of the night sweating and chilling and had to take a pill to go back to sleep. I also have severe back and neck pain so I know what it feels like to start the day in pain when you should be rested and ready to go. If you are abusing the pain meRAB and really want help to get off of them, suboxone and counseling really helped me. Also suboxone does help somewhat with the pain, some more than others. I have done a lot of research on the internet so that I would know what to expect. I know this reply is a little late. I don't get on here much but hopefully it helps. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I would doubt the pain is withdraws, suboxone is for withdraw control and it works very well but it is spendy, they say it has a small amount of pain relief but i don't think so. fact is if you need pain relief then take pain pills, if your abusing then get off them. I was snorting upworRAB of 800mg a day oxycontin, thats a fact, i beat it with suboxone

8 hours is pretty soon to be in withdrawal. Even heroin, an opioid with a very short-half life, didn't make me go into bad withdrawals until about 10-12 hours. I kicked it with suboxone, but remeraber, that is also an opioid and eventually you'll have to come off of it and withdraw from that as well. That I am dreading. As far as pain control, suboxone has been used to control pain for some reason in very tiny amounts. I'm not sure if the amount used to control pain would be enough to stave off craving for other opioiRAB, but be sure to discuss this with your doc.

Also, do your own research on the internet about suboxone, read all you can. A lot of doctors do not know as much as they should about suboxone and its correct usage and doses. My doctor's solution is always just to up my dosage, to ridiculous amounts that are unnecessarily large, from what I've read online. So just make sure to educate yourself. Good luck, check back and let us know how you're doing/what you've decided.

I got off pain pills (high doses) by taking subs. All the info you need is right here in these threaRAB. If I could, I would of detoxed off the pain meRAB and never went on the subs but I need them for pain. I'm worried that I will be a lifer but I am happier and healtier now and am living instead of just existing. Good luck.
