# of records allowed .....

Funcked

Evening,

My hot sync log is saying that the desktop has too many events and I need to purge in order to fit events onto the handheld. I have Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and a Palm T3. What is the limit? Does this seem viable?

Thanks,

Syno

Describes the max number of contact records and it's all proportional. You can not use up all of the memory for the PIMs - so the more contacts you have the lower the number of datebook entries.

You didn't stipulate how many records you have but typically it's 25% of the max number of contacts that's allowed so if you have 2,500 datebook entries combined with Tasks etc....well you've reached the limit.

BTW .......... I have 2,061 address book entries. Don't know how to figure out how many datebook entries. I suspect something more sinister is going on though becuase I have the conduit set to "Desktop Overides" and this is what I got (conduit set at desktop overides):

-- Calendar
- Some PC records were not copied to the handheld. Your handheld may be full. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
Desktop = 8385, Handheld = 8383
Calendar synchronization failed

................ my handheld is definately not full.

Any thoughts on any of this?

FileZ is also a freeware program and it will allow you to see how many records you have on all of your other programs on the handheld.

You should also be able to see them in the Palm desktop app on the PC - I believe there is a record count there....unfortunately I use Outlook so I can not confirm.

Syno - based upon your log - you have 8385 datebook entries. That couple with your 2K worth of address book entries....well you are over the top.

Now folks remember something: If you have a lot of birthdays these count as one entry per birthday per year so if you forecast a Birthday out to 2022 (I think that's the present end year) then these will count multiple times.
