Ode to Books

For the love of books
and the smell of pages
for the knowledge within
and the wisdom of the ages
for the verse and the meter of rhyme
and the story that spins us back in time
for the adventure, and the mystery
and the fact or fiction of history
for these binding will always stick
never to be replaced by point and click
for in library aisles and shelves
lies the treasure, in mirrors of ourselves
for the love of books
and the smell of pages
