I have more or less asked this question before. But as I am pretty sure I will be getting either a blue lobster or shell dwellers for my 10 gallon aquarium, I wanted to look one last time at my options before making any final purchases. What I really would like is a single species tank with some extra wow (or WTF) factor to it. I was originally thinking a Freshwater Stonefish, but when I learned how large they can grow I figure they would be better for a 20 gallon. If you know of a generally hardy species that would look good (and be comfortable by itself) that would definitely be a plus. So how about it, anybody know of any crazy fish that would do well by itself in a 10 gallon tank but not make it look too empty?
@ Vickie: WOW, NO WAY!
@Aadesh: Hello, please don't advertise something. My heart can't take it.
@Press: It is a wonderful species, and as a juvenile it would be plenty comfortable, but it would probably get too large for a 10 gal.and I would rather not have to move one to a larger aquarium. Thanks though
@Tom:I was thinking dwarf puffers at one point, but I think I would feel more comfortable with a hardier species until I gain more experience.
@Daniel: I have read quite often a crayfish will do well by itself in a 10 gallon. I am not doubting you, don't get me wrong. I was just wondering if you had prior experience with crayfish and know where I could find better information on them (I really would like to have one at one point).
@Daniel (again): Could it maybe be a different species of crayfish then the blue lobster that is suitable to a 10 gallon? You know I didn't even think about it, but it would make sense that different species would have different size requirements (Duuuuurrrr!) Looks like i need to do more research. Anywhere I could get good research on different species (I didn't want the blue lobster in particular, just said it because it was the most famous species).
