Odd noise in 1981 350 Chevrolet SB?

I hear an odd ticking noise coming from my engine, it sounds like it is coming from beneath the valve cover for 1,3,5 and 7 probably closer to 5 and 7. It's not too loud, and I hear it best when driving at higher speeds. What is it most likely to be? Rocker arm? Could this cause further damage if it is not fixed right away?
