Just watched this on ITv1 HD this afternnon. And I must say well done ITv for showing this uncut. At least im pretty sure it was uncut. I know of a couple of scenes that have been edited before and they all looked complete to me. Also no voiceovers over the end song and the whole end credits were shown and not speeded up. Also looked very good in HD. I really enjoyed seeing this for the umpteenth time. I know Octopussy isnt one of the most liked Bond films but I always find it a great piece of entertainment. Seems to have the right mix of thrills. Even the bit where Bond dresses as a clown which could have been a total farce is a genuinly exciting sequence. Heres hoping they show the two Dalton films in a couple of weeks uncut and in HD.

I think I caught this last Sunday and was surprised to see someone shot straight in the forehead at tea time. ITV have always been shoddy with their treatment of films, hopefully they have improved and decided to show films respect.

yes thats one scene I thought would be cut. The action scene with the blades is usually cut to ribbons and the bit where Bond throws the knife at the brother. They normally cut showing the knife go into him but didnt this time. I really cant see Licence To Kill being unedited if it is shown in the afternoon as it is a 15 certificate.

Charles Gray managed it too - after being killed off as a good guy in You Only Live Twice, he regenerated as Blofeld in DiamonRAB Are Forver.

Joe Don Baker went the other way from baddie in The Living Daylights to good CIA guy in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies

Licence to Kill uncut in the afternoon?
Not a chance as there is language to cut and the violence is also a lot stronger than in any other Bond film.

Even the cut version was a 15 when it came out and that was nearly a minute short .

Thankfully it was restored for the last dvd release but it was still 15.

I have the film on Bluray and it looks incredible.

Even though I'm an ardent Connery fan this movie is slowly becoming my all time favorite Bond movie.

It maybe because it has imo one of the best Bond girls ever.

I hate you, Richard Gere. :)

There was a bizarre edit of Licence to Kill shown at about 5pm a good few years back. All the language was censored, but the violence was there in full. This was before the latest DVD release, so it was interesting to see those few extra seconRAB of violence.

Have ITV shown any of the Bond films in HD in their OAR? Apart from the first few Connery ones they should all be 2.35:1. I have yet to see them show Bond in 2.35:1, which is a disgrace if they've got the rights to them in HD but are cropping them.

Live and Let Die and Golden Gun are not 2.35:1 either so these were shown in their correct ratio give or take a sliver of image .

Credits usually correct then zoomed in for the movie for all the rest
