We allowed a friend of our daughter's to purchase a car we owned. A few weeks later, a guy ran a red light and plowed into the driver's side. The car is totaled. She is now asking for some of the money back. She's paid $500 and had the car for about 3 weeks. I don't feel there is any obligation since we paid the insurance for the car and what little insurance money they will give us is far less than the cars value was to us.
