Obese people: medical condition vs. lifestyle?

Where can I get statistic information about obesity in the USA? Namely how many percents are because of medical condition, and how many percent are of lifestyle?

It seems 7-8 out of 10 overweight people I meet cite some medical problems making them fat (most common: slow metabolism). But I kind of suspect that percentage (80%) is too high...

fat is as much as a medical condition as junkie. They are the biggest drains on society AND the health care system!

I don't have the stats, but the reality is that most overweight people DO NOT HAVE A SLOW METABOLISM, in fact quite the reverse they tend to have fast metabolisms. Just as very few of them in reality are big boned etc...

it depends on your family history..
if you have a line or decendency of obese people
you might become obese aswell....
i think its neither....
