Obama has summoned BP CEO Hayward

The day after he justified why he hasn't yet met with him...because he knows what this "type of guy" will say...

Kinda sad Obama summons someone at the center of a disaster like this to the white house, and the guy gets to put him off until next week. :/
The president, the head of the EPA, Interior Department, Energy, any number of departments that could give them problems with future operations, and the earliest they get is June 17th.
That or Obama is too busy to care about the Gulf until next week. Either way sucks.
Hayward is supposed to be in front of congress then anyway, they have hearings and shit scheduled, would Obama have even bothered if he wasn't going before congress??? "Oh, your going to be in washington? Lets do lunch! ":/

If he didn't meet up with the CEO, people would be bitching about that too. Cynical lot we are.

Actually the letter was addressed to the Chairman of the Board, not the CEO. I don't think it even mentions Hayward at all.

Honestly, it seems like Obama doesn't really give a shit and that he's just trying to run BP out of business so he has a carcass to hang on his wall for election time. Then he'll say hey look at who's ass I kicked.

Or, perhaps as has been suggested, this is one big photo op and timing doesn't matter?

That's great, so he probably hasn't been on a rig in a technical roll in 15-20 years? Is he going to catch Obama up on the last 100 or so years of oil drilling so that Obama can tell him what to do? Pointless PR meeting.

or you know...a week, hell even 30 days in when we all knew it was a cluster fuck and pouring oil into important american waters.

He's had more oil rig experience, not to mention education, that Obama. But hey, maybe Obama can educate this guy on how to be a "Community Organizer".

I agree, pointless PR meeting.

To show his green pride, he should park his private jet at Regan National, and pedal an old Schwinn cruiser into Washington.
