It is an incredible precedent of the government getting into controlling the private sector. Even the UAW rank and file are shocked that auto execs where singled out and the Wall Street guys and AIG get special treatment (Special friends of King Obama).
Lets keep in mind that the government bailed out the auto industry to save the unions, not the execs.

no it is a good idea and he didn't sack him
how many rank and fie did you talk too

oh i ge it your a Republican , you don't need facts you make stuff up
and no matter even if the republicans would have done the same

however normally the republicans use childish moronic names for the president...........oh you did

well your childish enough to be a republican

Yes, the man has worked for GM 30 years. Master Obama didn't like the way he was using public bailout money. He was using it to give away $3600 in incentives to buy cars, (sales where up BTW) instead of using it to make electric cars and keeping the UAW fat and happy. Making a profit is against the law under Marxism.

they came to him, asked him for his money, and people get upset when he controls their company.

they asked for it.

that being said, i don't think he should be aloud to fire someone who doesn't work for the government. but i don't think gm should have asked the government for money in the first place, or accepted it if offered.

Yes. They should have gone bankrupt. I don't think that the government should pick up the slack for failing companies.

No.

Private sector? How much money do we have to give a failed company before we acknowledge that the company is dead but too stupid to lie down? GM's unions killed the goose that was laying golden eggs. Management continued to produce garbage products while Honda & Toyota creamed them in the market place. GM is a zombie.

They took the money and wanted to pretend they did not. Bad idea. You take my money you take my direction. Don't want my direction, fine. Don't take the money.

Yes huge mistake....we shouldn't let Government fire/hire people in private companies...yes I kow they are getting bail out bucks but that shows you the problem with bailouts....Government should not be getting involved in business. I mean for crying out loud they can't even run the Postal Business-delivering mail for crying out loud (i.e. postal business is in bad shape) how the heck are they gonna run a car dealership, a bank, insurance company, etc. ?
Second, Obama is overstepping boundries by not using the proper system of government. We have different branches so we have a checks and balances in the government. If anything...the Car companies should go through the judicial branch and file bankrupcy so the judge can help them restructure contracts, etc. For Obama to overstep the judicial branch is scary!

If the Republicans hadn't bankrupted the private sector by tolerating bad management in every quarter certainly this would have remained an implausible scenario.

Yep. Socialist answer there. I think they should let them sink or swim like everyone else. Besides, did any financial CEO's get ASKED to step down? Nah, they get their bonuses.
