1. Check each providers website.
2. Verify Coverage in you area.
3. See if you are eligible for any discounts to reduce your costs. For example, with VZW I can get 18% off due to my employer so I can get the Core plan for around $65.59 plus taxes. I also get 15% off with Cingular, but only on the 1st line of servcie and not on the data portion (compared with AWS offering discounts on ALL lines of service and features).
4. Search the forums for each provider for data and voice compliments and complaints.
5. Search each manufacturers forum and the phone forums under each carrier for pro's and con's.
