...read new information below.....? Nursing Programs. RN's, Associates, Bachelors, Pre-Reqs-its advice, please read new information below.....?
Okay so today I went to the college regarding an Associates in Nursing. I was told I would have to complete Pre-Req-its etc.....Was told it takes up to a 1 1/2 to complete those and about 2yrs to complete the Nursing Program. So total of about 3 1/2 yrs.
I then contacted the University regarding a Bachelors, I was told its a 4yr programme which includes me doing the pre-reqs-its, BUT now here is the complication, The advisor told me that after completing your prereqaits that you then apply to get into your chosen degree, and there is a possibility that I might now get in, which would then leave me having to chose another bachelor degree to obtain as I would already be in the programme. That sounds like a HUGE gamble, and actually that is what the man said to me aswell. Its a risk, he even advised its best for me to get my Associates, as then at least I would get onto the programme would be able to start working and then it would be easier to get into the bachelors degree that way.
Im highly interested in becoming a RN, but my issue is my age (27) only just turn 27 and also having a child of 7. I want to make sure I get into this career the right way, and ofcourse the quickest way. But, I do want to be able to advance later on, which clearly I know requires a bachelors to do so. Money is not great for me either, well im comfortable.
Please give any advice. What do you think I should do, please answer honestly.
