Number plate question hey Painterdude

There's a guy selling the white numberplates (cutgraphix) on ebay that has the same width and gold pinstriping as the 1098R.

Call me crazy and I realize it doesnt make the bike faster, but I dig the look. The problem is that it covers the stock Ducati sticker on the front cowl which has been clear coated. Obviouslly, that sticker would have to be removed...wetsand, remove, apply decals and clearcoat?

If that's the case would it just be better to paint the numberplates on?

Anyone think rattlecan clear sanded between coats and buffed out would do the trick or should I leave this to a pro?
