Numb Fingertips - need advice

My husband has been complaining for a month or more of his fingertips being numb. Does anyone know what could be causing this? He does have high cholesterol, his tri was 288 but he is on meds for this. The numbness started before he started any meds so I know its not a side effect from this. I asked his dr if he has been tested for diabetes cuz that runs in his family but that was ok. I know he has been under a lot of stress and I have noticed the last few weeks or so that he also taps hard on his chest once in awhile. I asked him why he does that and he jokes saying gotta keep it going but I think there is something else.
Any ideas? I asked if he told the dr of his symptoms and he said yes but I called her today behind his back and she said he never mentioned it. She said to have him come in and get checked out but if I tell him i called he will be mad and hes not one to go to the dr for every little thing. He's only 42 and he has been exercising and lost 43 lbs. He is now 197# and 5'9". He's very stocky so I think he is at a fairly healthy weight right now.

Also another weird thing....just friday he went and had a will drawn up and got a life insurance policy.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

He could be having heart palpitations and/or arrythmia and that's why he's tapping his chest....to try to get the heart back in rhythm. The numbness and heart palps could be stress and anxiety related or circulation problems. Try to convince him that it's probably just anxiety and that you will go to the doctor with him just to clear that up and he won't have to worry anymore. Good luck.

Hi
Is it just his fingertips taht are numb is it both hands and do his feet go numb as well...Do you think he is anxious he naybe feeling some haertburn or the like............But iwould urge you to get his doc to test for B12 and also ask the doc to do a MMA & homocysteine as well as these are high in a B12 deficiency even if the serum is so called normal.....Also test too thyriod too

My fingertips went numb too at the beginning of my deficeincy over time it moved to my hands and futher I have a B12 deficiency it also causes anxiety and an inability to handle any stress at all and a whole load of other things..

It could be other things too but the B12 is easy to overlook but its is treatable...........
Does he take any other meds

Take care
