Does anyone have experience coming off of NuCynta. I have been on it for about 3 months (3, 100 mg tabs per day). Being treated for a cervical problem. I need to stop taking it but can't seem to do it. I have a past history of opiate problems, which my doctor knows about but seems to think that this drug is 'ok'. It is very new, but is a schedule II drug.

The drug works for pain and definately does have euphoria associated with it. I hope to work myself out of the hole I have dug soon.

I tried Nucynta a few months ago and I ended up stopping it and starting oxycodone again. I was off of it a few days and I never seems to have any problems before I started the oxy again. It didn't stop the pain and I did feel euphoric from it, to the point where I would not drive a car. I wrote something about it in the Pain Management forum. You're the first person that I've heard about that has taken it for any length of time, so you'll have to let us know how it goes. Both my pharmacist and my PM doctor confessed afterwarRAB that they didn't think it would work as well as the oxy. I guess I was their guinea pig. When all else fails - taper slowly.
