Now that GM is getting rid of the Pontiac line, are their cars still valuable?

I had a family member trade in a Pontiac Vibe because they felt this car would no longer be a valuable trade-in once GM stops the Pontiac line. They had their car for about two and a half years. It was a brand new car and they traded it in because of what GM is about to do. Will their Pontiac line still be valuable even though they're going to stop making Pontiac cars?

its hard to say. Certain models will increase in value others will decrease. the Vibe would probably fall into the decrease in value market as it was never a popular vehicle to begin with. Just because a car line disapears doesn't mean people still won't shell out money to get one especially if it is a car they like. For instance a Pontiac GTO will always catch a pretty penny when it goes up for sale. Take a look at Plymouth and you will see whats in the future for most of the pontiacs. Plymouth Barracuda sales for 3 times as much as the Dodge Challenger and they are the exact same car.
