Dear Friends
I am about to finish translating a novel that I published in Italy 26 years ago and, since I am not a native speaker, I am looking for someone that could have a look at the English version that I am about to produce (better in London or Berkshire, but this is not an absolute condition).
Searching for someone from the professional proofreading community, either agencies or individuals, I realized that it is a little bit of a jungle, and it is difficult for me to know who possess the necessary qualities and is reliable. It is also a matter of cost, since I would not want to spend too much, if possible, and, above all, I would not want to waste money.
I wonder whether you are able to suggest a serious agency or individual that could do the job or help me to find the right person, or provide any advice that you may deem useful.
I would prefer a person who is not only interested in the economic aspect of the job, someone who also shows passion for what he/she does.
I do not know why, but it keeps coming to my mind the image of a very good post graduate literature student (doing PhD, for instance) or a retired person who has literature experience and time... but these are just vague ideas...
Many thanks in advance
