I am located in California, and I sold my car on October 12, 2009. Today is October 19, 2009. Now, I had went to the DMV on the 12th earlier in the day (before I sold my car) to register my new car, but I forgot to inform them that I was selling my other vehicle that day. Now, it's been 7 days since I sold my car, (5 calendar days), and I know that you must notify DMV within 5 days of selling your vehicle, but I completely forgot. I'm going in on Monday morning, which would mark it at 6 days of notifying them. My question is, will I be fined for this? Please, no stupid responses just to get yourself points.
