Noticing a popping sound when changing mp3 tracks on N80 using headphones

when using nokia stereo headset or my koss portapros connect via the nokia headphone adapter, there is a popping noise that occurs when changing mp3 tracks.

its probably the audio chip switching on and off to save battery life.

nokia will say its a feature not a bug. i rather the audio power saving occured when the audio player is turned off than while changing songs.

Hahaha "feature!" All I know is that it hurts my ears!

BTW, nice choice on the cans; I'm using a pair of Sportapros myself.

i've had like 4 pairs of portapros since they were introduced. great headphones. they've each would have outlasted my accident prone life ;-p

yeah the popping is more on my left ear. i think nokia would listen if i filed a support issue. but alot of other people would have to complain. judging from the interest of this post, maybe they don't use their n80 as a mp3 player much.

The music player (or the hardware part) is crap. There's a 1/2-1 sec gap between the tracks with noise.

Try OggPlay. No popping noises with OggPlay between tracks.

thanks for the rec. i tried oggplay. still the same. i believe its a N80 issue, not the player.

the circuitry cuts out the audio chip to save power. and a audible pop is heard. in my case its the left ear. its audible using headphones. i don't hear it with the speakerphone.
