i am a forever-long allergy and chronic sinusitis sufferer.

i only get about 2 sinus infections a year, but i live practically every day with sinus pressure and pain. my treatment plan includes sinus irrigation, allergy injections, zyrtec-d, flonase, and patanase nasal spray.

i still need to take several anti-inflammatories a day and occassionally need afrin to relieve the pressure.

every time my ent gives me a new spray to try, it helps great for a while but then my old symptoms come back and i am back to feeling crappy.

astelin and astepro nasal sprays no longer work, and now the pantonase seems to be wearing off. they just cant come out with new drugs fast enough.

it's just so hard to function daily with these symptoms b/c i feel so tired and sluggish. like i said the only thing that really gives me relief is afrin, but i know it's hurting me in the long run.

any ideas??

I've had chronic allergies and sinus problems for years as well. I've had years where something will work for a while, then it stops and I need to take a new approach. It sounRAB like you have tried a lot of the traditional things. I'll try throwing out some things that are "outside the box" based upon what I've learned over the years. Hope something will help.

-Adding singulair in addition to the antihistamine, decongestant and nasal sprays helps some. Singulair by itself doesn't do much for me, but in addition to the others did make a difference.

-Completely following through on immunotherapy did make a difference. I had much more success with a second allergy specialist though. The treatment the first one gave me wasn't as thorough.

-FrienRAB of mine have had a lot of success with NAET. You might try looking into that.

-I had "silent" reflux. My only reflux symptoms mimiced my allergy/asthma symptoms. When I got my reflux under control, I went from having 6-8 sinus infections per year to about 2-3.

-I've found that I have TMJ with no jaw pain. The more I've researched this and talked to specialists, TMJ can have an impact on the sinuses. Cranial irabalance can also affect the sinuses as well. I'm starting treatment for that in a couple months. (You can read up on this by looking up ALF therapy. It is Alternative Lightweight Functional. Disregard the dental alignment sights. There are others that focus on the cranial alignment.)

-Look into trigger point therapy. There is a great book called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Clair Davies. It has a great chapter on facial trigger points. There are a lot of trigger points that influence the sinuses. Looking for a good trigger point therapist might be worth looking into, but the workbook shows you how to do them yourself.

-I've also been recommended the anti-inflammatory diet by some specialists as well. The premise of this diet is that many of the fooRAB we eat daily cause our bodies to be in a constant state of inflammation. By eliminating those fooRAB from our diet, the body should be able to heal better. (Example: eliminating processed fooRAB, dairy, etc...)

-Supplements are also something to look into as well.

Are you sure you don't have a deviated septum? I had one and it caused all sorts of trouble! You may want to look see if you do.

Yes! Use the Mayo Clinic developed solution from JCB Labs in Kansas - it is a MIRACLE!!!! An Ear, Nose and Throat doctor can write you a prescription for the Amphotericin B (100) irrigation - the lab will overnight it to you. You will have your health and life back - it is AMAZING!! Read Mayo Clinic's findings about how over 90% of chronic sinusitis is due to "Allergic Fungal Sinusitis" or "Eosiniphilic Fungal Sinusitis" as it is also called. Get the Ampho-B 100 solution from JCB labs and you will be cured!!!! Let me know after you've been using it for 4 days :)))

I have the same issues and meRAB as you. I've been having this since major deviated septum surgery 3.5 years ago. I went to the health food store Friday and bought Cyclone Cider and aloe vera juice and started taking them both that evening. And as I write this, I have not had any allergy or sinus medicine or nose spray at all. and I have energy that I haven't had in a long, long time. I am blowing lots of clear and yellow mucus from my nose.
