Hey, I'm a college kid mid twenties. I've been getting hives for over half a year now. They started at the begging of summer and have slowly got worse. Mainly the were on my extremities(hanRAB, arms, legs, toes) but every once and a while one would crop up on my face. A few months ago my lips swelled real bad.
Since then I've had two occurrences of lips swelling the last of which my eye lid also swelled shut and i had other hives all over my face and it was hard to breath. Since all this started this summer I've been to the doctor several times. The first few times they would just prescribe a different anti histamine, not really caring that I don't like to take medication and would like to know what was causing the reaction so I could avoid it.
Finally a few months ago I got a referral from a campus doctor to go see an allergist. I went on the 21 and they tested me for 32 common things, pretty much everything I come into contact with, but none of them had a reaction. The doctor then told me it was probable a seasonal thing(that's already lasted 6 months
) and it'll eventually go away. But he also recommended I get a urine and blood sample checked out just to be sure.
I just got a call today from a nurse telling me their were red and white blood cells in my urine. This does not have to do with my period because I was about mid cycle at the time. The nurse told me they have to test again to see if there is any this time, but I have to wait over two weeks because I have to be clear of my period. I'm trying to research online and i can not find anything that would connect these two.
I know blood in urine is serious, though it isn't always, but would it have anything to do with my hives? Has anyone heard anything like this before?
