NOT PROVIDING PARENTS' TAX INFO TO COLLEGES?

HEY I'M GAY

I SENT 4 COLLEGES THIS EMAIL:
I am applying to your school through the QuestBridge program and one of your requirements is the financial aid document. It says that I have to provide my parents' income tax forms, but neither of my parents will be financing my college education. I have asked my mother for her income tax form from 2008 twice and she still has not given it to me. (And I do not know when she will give it to me.) Also, I am not in contact with my father so I have no access to his financial information. Is it mandatory that I submit my parents' income tax forms? I do not see how this could be of any use when I will be paying all of the bills (by working while in school and taking out loans if I have to). Can I just provide my 2008 income tax form instead?
DO YOU THINK THEY WILL STILL REQUIRE MY PARENTS INFO?
