I am African American and I never wanted to really give guys of my race a chance because I thought I had nothing in common with them. I always just dated guys of the opposite race but I realized that, as much as I like to think of myself as not being judgemental, I was being really ignorant all those years.
I'm into rock music and things like that and I hate when people treat me weird because they think an African American can't be into things that way so I figure why can't I give guys of any race a chance. Race doesn't determine who you are or what you're into. My friends have always told me "Eew Black Guys" so I bought into that and be came the queen of discrimination and that's not what I want.
I'm just going to be with whoever I'm attracted to. My friends will bother me a lot about this but I don't want to be judgmental anymore. I hate when people do it to me and I don't want to do it to them.
How can I deal with my friends bothering me about accepting guys of all races and not limiting it anymore?
