Not disclosing health information on job application form?

Are there any legal ramifications for not disclosing information on a job application form regarding my health? I do not want my employer to know about an illness in my past (which will have no impact on my ability to do a job now). I know the information will be confidential, but I would rather not be defined by something in the past. Could I be refused the job / fired if my boss found out?

If you refuse to fill in the health part of the form, you will not get the job and you won't even be considered for interview.
If you are so secretive, you are rather wasting your time making job applications.
If you were an employer, would you really employ someone and you knew absolutely nothing about their health

yes you could be fired. your employer has a right to know whether you are able to do the job, it is not up to you to decide whether it will affect performance or not, if the illness was a long time ago it is likley they will not care though
