I have beeen treated for 3 months for asthma and after a methacholine challenge test my pulmonologist said it was muscles and put me on floradil and ordered pulmonary PT for 6 weeks to see if they improve. Now I need to know what has happened to my muscles. I do have syringomyelia but my NL does not think that this is the cause. I am going to see him today and discuss this problem.

I had a feeling it might not have been asthma. You just didn't seem to have the right corabination of issues coupled with no response to the meRAB. Glad you at least have a DX though it may not be what you wanted.

I went to Memphis for another opinion on the syrinx being the cause of my shortness of breath, and Dr. Boop said it was not. The pulmo. does not know. I have not been able to have the pt because I do not have a diagnosis for my ins. I am using foradil daily and that helps some. So I am at a stand still. Do you have any idea what this sounRAB like to you?

Thankyou

Barbara

Sorry, I am not familiar with your disease so can't venture a guess. If the pulmonary doctor dx'ed a muscle issue, would that not qualify for the insurance to pay for PT?
Maybe you could go for just one time and get the exercises and do them at home?

Good Morning Barbara,
Did you have a cold or some respiratory issue before it started, that made this start? I have a similiar problem as you do it appears however my came upon due to a bad cold.

I can always breathe but at times can not always get a "satisfied" breath. I don't ever have any weezing

No, mine is not from a cold that I can remeraber, it's only on induced exercise. (just walking or picking up something) I will question him about the muscle diagnosis today.

Thanks for replying
Barbara
