not able to open gas tank of my 98 Toyota Camry?

Hi Experts,

I am not able to open gas tank of my 1998 Toyota Camry. I have pulled the lever all the way I can, but no use.....Last time when I filled the gas, it was working fine. Can any one suggest me some solution or alternate.

Sometimes the cable that is hooked to the lever gets detached at the lever due to the lever plastic breaking...if not that then the other end is the problem. You may have to pry it open with a plastic putty knife so you don't scratch your car. There are tabs that help it pop open readjust them. If not that, the cable needs to be replaced.
 
There is a cable that runs to the gas door from the lever in the car. Check to see if it's still attached. there should be an emergency release in your trunk. Good luck
 
One person pulling the trigger, one standing by the tank door pushing in on it and maybe some tapping to break the latch loose(if its not a broken cable.
then take Wane S advise and lube the cable and latch.
Problems like this arise when cold weather strikes.
