Not able to connect apple ipod ?

Hiii... i am not able to connect my apple ipod to my PC. pls help. technical details are as follows :

Model : MB150ZP
Version : 1.1.2
PC OS : windows 7
installed itune version: 4.8.0.31

The ipod is working fine bt when connected to the PC there is no sign of action neither in the ipod nor in the PC.
Plz help..
