Not a happy camper:( SOCCER HELP PLEASE)?

well okay see i had a soccer game and it was POURING so we played and my cleats and me got soaked. Well then I set them in the laundry room on top of the dryer and when I went to get them today they smell terrible and I think they have got mold growing in them. How can I get rid of the problem FAST and Effectively. How can i not have this happen again???
