Northeast US: Help me pick a carrier and phone

Right now I'm on my Dad's Verizon plan, using a Motorola L7c (That you guys helped me pimp out with krzr firmware :2thumbs: )

Dad has kept me online for the past 5yrs (Thank you!), but now it's time for me to spread my wings and fly-on my own bill haha

The L7c has been great: bulletproof, good reception, etc. etc. but I will be upgrading it as I change providers.

Here are my provider requirements:
2,000 minutes/month
500 texts or so
No roaming charges across the US
No extra charges to call/text Canada
The phone will be used in NY/PA/MD/VT areas
Data is not required
I can keep my old number from Verizon (It's really easy to remember)

Phone requirements:
Candybar or slider style-the fewer moving parts the better
Keyboarded slider would be cool.
Charges via mini-usb
Doesn't require drivers to charge via mini-usb (I HATE YOU MOTOROLA)
Has a "decent" camera (1 or 2 MP would be nice)
Isn't crippled by the provider
Can boot up a music player in a hurry (My L7c took ~2 minutes to get into the jukebox)
MicroSD compatible
Stores photos/video on the microSD card

Thanks for taking the time to read through, I have a lot of faith in you guys

*EDIT*
I forgot to mention, my Uncle gave me his old jailbr0ken first generation iPhone. I'm not wild about it, but I would consider using it if buying a plan to feed it would be super-cheap.

About the only good carrier in VT is Verizon. ATT has coverage in parts, Burlington area especially, but their coverage can be spotty. Sprint has a little, T-Mo not much. They should also work in the other 3 as well. This is from my personal experience and traveling from SC to ME. I carry both ATT and Verizon for just that reason.

However, you need to look at where you will be using it - not just a blanket use in all 4 states. All carriers have holes in service.
