So, i was looking around for a really cheap pre-pay (phone use < 30 min per mo) and i came across page plus.

Seemed to be a good deal. I got a verizon cdma tri-mode phone off ebay (nokia 6015i), went to get activated, and discovered I can't get a local number in Seattle... closest they can get is Boise!

anyway, i'm wondering what i should do?

a) what all networks in the seattle area use this type of phone? Can this (verizon) phone be unlocked to use those? I know that Verizon has a pre-paid program, but yipes! it's too expensive.

b) Maybe I can just use the phone with the Boise number?
-assuming it's mainly for outbound calls, page plus has nationwide long distance for the same price as the local call, right? so outbound calls wouldn't cost anymore with the boise number as with a local number (I suppose it's kind of a pain always having to dial local area codes)

- Can cingular callers on their pre-paid plan call the phone for no LD charge?

c) Maybe I should just sell the phone and start over again?
- know anyone who wants to buy a good condition nokia 6015i?

thanks

Verizon phones can only be used on the Verizon network. Never heard of Page Plus. You need to do some research on them yourself. Try calling them?

thanks dubdub; i was afraid of that. i only asked because i wanted to confirm. PagePlus has really good rates, and uses the verizon network. Unfortunately, they're just too small to be everywhere, i guess.
