Bought my 80gb in March, my mom lost the receipt, should I send it to Sony, I know it'll cost 150 bucks, or do any of you guys have any other suggestion?

Send it in if you want, but I'm pretty sure they don't usually try to break things you send them. It's worth a try, though.
