Non-English speaking "citizens"

ok.. i have to come down on this one:

OUR country. did you sleep through that "of the people, by the people, for the people" stuff in history class in 8th, 10th and 12th grades?

you don't have to learn their language. but until there is a national language here, they don't have to learn yours, either. it just so happens that most of us speak english.

you don't. if you don't know the language of another american who is trying to communicate with you, the two of you will just have a communication problem.

it's not MY problem, though, so i couldn't give a rat's ass.

if you want to hold this attitude, write your representative or senator and ask for english to be declared the national language. i'd be behind you 100%. i'm tired of my tax dollars paying the printing fees for literature in english, french, german, spanish, mandarin, cantonese, tagalog, japanese, korean, russian, italian, farsi, hindi, swahili, hungarian, and dutch.
