Non-believers, is this typical of your religious debates with Christians?

You have to watch the whole thing, because the very best comes at the end. I'm going to be laughing about this one for days.

Seriously, even if you get bored, listen to the end of their conversation. It really snuck up on me, but doesn't it remind you of something?

no time and why do you lump everyone together? most Christians come here to help others if they care....if they dont we cant help them....IT TAKES THE SPIRIT TO UNDERSTAND..

yes. that was very interesting. i liked his explanation of things and how he kept a cool head.

have you seen this one? same guy, addressing a more difficult caller:

Well to be fair, not all religious folk resort to personal attacks of that sort.

In fact, most of them will not even engage in such debates.

This is why it is absolutely a must to clarify definitions before engaging in any type of religious discussion because people have their own definitions of what different words mean.

For instance, a lot of folks here define R&S to mean “Christian believers exclusively” as is evident every day by different people.

Belief and faith are two different words.

Thanks for that. Yea. The end was worth watching. And I didn't get bored. He was very restrained and pretty clear in his answers. Just makes you happy to know that people like him get some airspace amongst the drivel.
Such a contrast to the poor hapless "gee I don't know" interviewer.
Does the ending remind me of something? Well. Does the word intolerance spring to mind?

i started to doze off then was like wtf and had to re play it...hahahaha....

"How 'bout I just come down down there and punch your fat head in".... typical Christian cornered rat. When that's not an option, just hit the report button!

Nice link :)

It is for those who assert the existence of a supernatural entity to prove it. I am not an atheist because I do not believe in a God.. I am labeled by you who decides there is a supernatural being call god and I do not believe in your supernatural god.

If I assert the existence of Thor - I can now assert that you are an aththorist. So why don't you believe in Thor, what is wrong with you aththorists.

Just people who is insecure about their belief react like that.
Real christians, the few I have known, don´t give shit if you believe or not, they treat everibody with respect.

That was not expected. I loved how the atheist is able to keep control over himself and hung up when the debate turned into something ugly. I know many have strong beliefs but there is no need for negativity of any kind. One showed it and the other did not. Which one has better morals.

This is not too imnpressive to me. There are all kinds of Christians out there. ONes that can handle a debate like that and ones who have their world shatter when they can not express their foundation in the Lord. The proof that the Loord gives us is from the inside out. There are many Doctors that will say how science of medicine had failed and laws that govern nature or physics that can not explain or ever will for the greatness of science (knowledge of qualified doctors) can not give a smallest of explanation on how some people have recovered from a eminate death illness or car crash.
Watch the TV show by Roma Downey about " Miricales". These are just some samples of true stories that Christians have experienced.

the person (debate person) questioning the atheists was not mature enough to represent all Christians but again people want to group everyone together to fit their beliefs so they can protect their position on whether there is a God or not.

I have my proof and I know for fact there is. you explain that to me that there is not a God. My fact is not mystical or self made up, they are actual places and times where God was there for me in my time of need.

I feel sorry for those that do not have those experiences so they can know the Living God.

Good luck to you my," neighbor", i hope you will someday Maybe it will be a foxhole in your life that you can not climb out of that will get you to reach out and ask God to make himself known to you to get you thru something when all is lost and your certain death is near and then you are saved and You have to believe at that point for there would then be enough evidence that you were resqued.

Yes... That's the way it goes. The atheist makes sense and the theist offers denial and doubt of it.

One of the finial statements seemed to say to me that a good way to explain the position is simply to say: I believe the claims of theists are wrong... They claim there is a god and I see no evidence to support that claim. I have no personal knowledge or experience of any existing gods nor of anything like a god ever existing historically. My beliefs are not about gods but rather about those who make claims of gods without evidence -- My belief is that their claims are wrong.

Ba ha ha ha ha I loved the end where the caller totally lost his cool and freaked out. Hilarious!

He who strikes the first blow admits he's lost the argument...

That guy arguing had ALOT of good points, I really liked how he kept his cool and talked it out. The caller kept skirting the issue and twisting out of his inquiries, it was great.

Also Yes that kind of end response is typical of my debates with various theists. It almost always degenerates into attacks upon my person near the end.

Not even a good debate. Sorry but the unseen guy doing the interview forgot what God says; 1 Corinthians 2 9-16.
“ Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ."

Spiritual things can not be known until you have received the Spirit.

Atheists do not have faith the same as Theists. Even about what they believe.

A Christian's Faith is belief IN Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior. One can believe about something such as Big Foot but that is not placing our trust and faith IN Big Foot.

Atheists may believe that there is a Big Foot or not but, they do not place their faith and trust IN him.

Scientists although, I very much respect them, can not even figure out all physical things. They are human just like you and I. Look at the Quantum Double Split Experiment.

OMG, that was funny but I feel so bad about that last sentence and how he insulted that guys head.
I wonder if that is a regular talk show or what. I'll have to see if I can find out.
I would hope that this isn't typical but if the believer is angry that someone is talking against God then they may not be concerned for the person who isn't a believer and therefore not caring about what type of head is on their shoulders.

Edit: I read some of the answers to your question. The one guy that said that it is the believers fault that he has to be a non-believer doesn't realize that if God is real ? then he will have to stand before him and that is a lot different.

The one who said that real Christians don't give a **** about what others believe doesn't apply exactly to everyone. I am a believer and that makes me just a real as any believer but not every believer knows how to receive God's grace due to different reasons. Everyone is a sinner and growth takes time for a believer but if he doesn't grow in the knowledge of God then there will be no grace or peace in his or her life from God and therefore the sin nature is all they really know, even in so called spiritual discussions.
I care if a person is a non-believer but I respect their rights to their own beliefs and see that this is what he meant by this comment.
I can't say for sure why I just made comments on peoples comment but it wasn't to be mean or anything like that.
