Non-artists in the gaming industry?

I want to go into the gaming industry, but not as an artist. I couldn't draw my way out of a paper bag (and no, I refuse to "just keep practicing!"). I want to be the kind of person who manages others, or maybe writes dialogue for games.

What kind of degree should I get to do this?
Does a job like this even exist?
Am I having delusions of grandeur here, or what?
