My Nokia N95-3 came with a Podcast application that could download and play both audio and video podcasts.

I can't seem to find it on my Nokia N8, is it hiding there somewhere?

Does Nokia have a version of the Podcast application that will work on the N8?

If not, can anyone suggest a Podcast application for the N8 that can download RSS feeds of both audio and video podcasts?

I found that if you subscribe to the containing RSS feeds in the web browser, you can simply tap on the media link within each episode, and the podcast will start playing right away (while streaming to your phone).

Sort of like "Just In Time" podcasts if you will.
 
I use the web browser for HD video podcasts and use Podcatcher for podcasts on the go so they use less data when not on wifi
 
So, I downloaded and installed PodCatcher for Symbian^3, then configured the HD Tekzilla Podcast from Revision3 (selected HD at 24 fps rather than their HD 30 fps as I think I read that the N8 can't do the 30 fps, right?) and got PodCatcher to download a few episodes.

I then connected the N8's HDMI output to the 42" HDTV and watched PodCatcher pumping Tekzilla to a full glorious 720 42"!:clapping:

Watching some YouTube clips on the 43" HDTV was a little disappointing, presumably due to the low resolution the N8's YouTube app was using.:(

I have been using PodCatcher for a few days now on my N8 and I am very happy with it.

I would recommend it to any other N8 owners looking for an audio and video podcast application.


On another note, I have just received an e-mail from MeCanto that their Symbian version is now N8 compatible.
