Nokia N97 need help with inbox?

My 2nd month in with Nokia N97 and ive finally gotten all my sim contacts on my phone though everytime i receive a message from a person that i have on my contacts list would somehow still become a number like 4168780000. How can i fix it so that i would receive the messages with the sender as something like "Melissa"? please and thanks
