nokia n97 mass memory help?

my phone's memory is completely full even after deleting messages, i have gone through images, sounds and video's and have made sure that there was none on there.
my phone's telling me in 'other files' that is where a majority of the files that i cant seem to find are.
if you could please help me go about deleting these to help speed my phone up, that would be very appreciated.
 
Its maybe not the phone memory that your phone refer to,but its the RAM that fulled with some apps running in the background.
Try to take the battere out for a while.Hope thats will help.
