Nokia N95: Video playback problem, no picture after 30-40 mins

Here?s what I know so far:
Movie playback freezes after some 30-40 minutes of playback, both on the N95 and in computer. Tried divx software player in the N95 without success. It doesn?t matter if you convert the movie using Nokia video manager or Smart movie, same problem occurs anyway. It doesn?t matter how the video is encoded, medium or high quality seem to give the same problem.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is this some kind planned limitation? I tried this converting a divx and xvid encoded avi file, tv series (Lost). Any information on this problem would be great!

If playback freezes in the same spot when playing it both on the N95 and your computer, I'm guessing the video file itself is the problem here.

Unless ALL videos that you have are doing this...

All videos results in the same freeze... Even other people have reported the same problem at my homepage.

Do you have this problem also?

Hey dariosoltani, I guess we’re on the same boat then.

I'm also experiencing this problem. At first I thought this has something to do with file itself so I tried to convert other movie files using different movie converters (Nokia Multimedia Player, Movie Manager, Riverpast, Etc; ) but the results are all the same.

Actually on my case, the screen will not freeze during regular playback. It will only start if I fast forward like 30 to 40 minutes into the movie then the screen will either freeze or turn black. I can still hear the audio though, but the video is gone.

What is the file size of the clips you have? Mine is between 90 to 110mb.

I can also hear audio but the image either freezes or gets black. Ive tried files between 110 - 220mb.

I'm starting to think the problem is in the codec?

Just watched American Psycho on the phone yesterday... Ripped from DVD using CloneDVD Mobile by Slysoft. Played flawlessly (about 1hr40min). Also watched many TV episodes (Simpsons, Heroes, etc) with no freezing whatsoever... These were converted to H.264 video/AAC audio using Super.

Also tried fast forwarding / rewinding... no problems.

Tried Super, worked great! Thanks!
