Nokia N95 issue with changing networks?

Hi i have my phones IMEI number and unlocking code, after going through the unlocking process i get the message "sim card was not restricted", but when i try to use the new sim from a new network i get a message stating "connection error. can anyone help or do i have to send the phone back to the manafacture
