Nokia N93 3G help

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I live in San Diego and own a Nokia N93. I recently had my provider Cingular (the new AT&T) switch me over to their UMTS wireless Internet system. The problem is that I never see the 3G insignia, nor does the phone ever go above 100k. When I contacted Cingular, they simply said it must be the settings on my phone. I called Nokia USA, they were no help at all (they won't discuss overseas phones). Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone used their Nokia N93 or N73 in the US with 3G access? Please help.

Thanks,

The N93 and N73 will not have 3g functionality here in the states. Both operate on 2100mhz UMTS which is exclusive to Europe and Asia. US 3g bands are running on 850/1900. The upcoming N75 will be the first US 3g Nokia. FYI...N95 will not run on US 3g nor will the current N93i.

Thanks for the info, it breaks my heart to not get everything out of my N93. Still the best phone I have ever owned.

Ciao,
A.J.
