Hi, I am thinking of buying a Nokia n80IE and was just wondering if it would work on 3g network by cingular, I am a little confused, I read there are 2 versions of the phone wcdma 2100 and 1900 , and 1900 works in us. So when checking for us version was is one checking for? or how is it checked,

also when they mentioned 800,1800 1900 +wcdma 2100 is that the same?

please any advice would help in getting the right phone.

Hi, I do have N80(black) which is 850/900/1800/1900GSM and 2100wcdma. As far as I know even N80IE has the same 3G band which would be 2100. If you check http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/N80ie it's same as n80. I was gonna flash my phone to IE but I changed my mind. why bother when it will do the same job.

I'm selling mine for $420 and you've replyed to my posting. if you are still interested please let me know.

Thanks.

The only N80 with WCDMA 1900 is the prototype for Cingular that are really hard to find and aren't worth it because of the extremely buggy firmware.

Other than 3G however, the GSM 850/900/1800/1900 means you're covered for GSM service around the world. You won't find a Nokia with WCDMA 1900 until the N75, like efingeret said.

I heard that N75 won't come out at all. I've seen N75 even on Cingular posters but it is just hopeless waiting for such a long time.

I know know that Cingular will carry 6131 but it's not 3G and it is S40.
