Nokia N800 and Slingbox or Orb?

yes it does, i am using orb on my n800, have to keep the stream down to max 128 in order to run it and need to run on real player, but works well and is clear. am very happy with my n800.

hi,

I'm trying to use orb on my E65- i am connecting through WLAN... I can get to the program listings page, and connect perfectly. But, when I try to stream the program, it runs realplayer, and either sits on the 'connect' page, or says it cannot connect.

Any thoughts?

I've already tried changing the max bandwidth, and settings so that my WLAN access point is the default in realplayer.

Any help would be great!

2 things i noticed was first codec for real player needs ot be installed on desktop and also the stream settimng i use is hardly 120 max.

I've been using the N800 for a few weeks now.

1. Orb - works great. There's an option in Orb to setup a uPnP server, but I have yet to get this to work on my N800. Through the internet portal, though, it works like a champ. Music sounds good, video even works, but needs to be set down to ~77-96kbps to stream properly, I've found. That's over WiFi. Any higher than that and I got a "resolution not supported" error.

Also, for Orb to work you have to have the Real codec on your computer. Don't bother with the whole nastiness that is Real Player. Google Real Alternative - it basically installs just the codec without all the bloat.

2. VNC there is a VNC viewer for the N800.

You guys should seriously head over to Internettablettalk.com and get involved there. You'll find ALOT more info than you will here.

The N800 is the Internet Tablet and runs Maemo OS 2007, which (from what I can gather) is a version of Debian Linux.

There is absolutely NO similarities between the Internet Tablets and S60, other than the Nokia name on the front.

loveanh - far as i know, only on the N73 x-series from 3 in the UK is there a symbian client for sling

i'm able to schedule recordings and to play live and recorded shows from home just great from my N91's browser and realplayer, tho - thx to having (unsurprisingly, given where i work) Orb and a hauppauge tuner-card on my PC
