Hey all my first post here,

I am thinking of getting the N80 and I have read about how the batteries sucks on it, would I be able to buy a better battery for it?

Also can some of you guys post some pics of your N80 please, or show me a already made thread of pics of it.

As for the battery: yes it does suck, and no there is no better battery available for it.

I'm a heavy user and I got used to charging my phone every day pretty quickly. Despite the battery life it really is an excellent phone.
 
Yes, carry a spare with you - unless you always have access to a wall charger or car charger. I keep my N80 fully charged as much as I can, because a half-charged battery can be depleted by just a couple of lengthy (i.e. one hour) conversations. The very hi-res display, heavy bluetooth use, mail and Web functions, not to mention photography and music, all take their toll.
 
Also you can do some tweaks on the phone to make it last longer (use GSM only as opposed to umts/gsm, turn down wifi power to 4mw, making sure no apps running in background when idle) and what the previous poster said

To the OP, get a spare and a car charger and you're okay!

Also, get the N80ie [Internet Edition] as opposed to the regular N80.. so you can make MOIP/VOIP calls on it

The Black N80 is damn SEXY!! and I love it!
 
If the wifi isnt a big draw for you, you might check out the N73, also. I started with the N80 but went to the N73 due to the camera and battery life and couldnt be happier.

Though, I will confess, even with the black housing on my N73, theres very few things sexier than the black N80.
 
Having explored and used both N80 and N73 extensively.. here are my brief conclusions...Both are made in Finland.

1) N73 has a more solid feel to it. Although my N80ie has no creaks [unlike the earlier N80 I had with a creaky battery door ] and the Slider is also much tighter than the earlier N80 [Made by Nokia] I owned..

2) N80's camera doesn't hold a candle to N73's! That's common knowledge now..

3) N80 is, by leaps and bounds, a much better looking/eye catching phone!

4) Voice quality and RF is about the same on both..

5) N80's D-Pad is WAY better than N73's mis-aligned and weak Joystick!

6) N73's battery life is MUCH more than N80s.. However, the battery life on this N80ie seems to have improved alot considering all it's features..

That's all I could recall right now...

If I were to choose one of these right now.. I'd go with the N80ie!! I don't really use the Camera that much.. and I find the rest more appealing on the N80
 
if N80 battery is gonna be a issue then go for the E65

i play with mine all day ...talk lots and play with wifi and hardly ever give the phone any rest and it still last the day with bars too spare

At the very least, I imagine the E65's camera would be stable and take pictures quickly, just like my E70 did (since they have the same camera). The N80 I used took several seconds to finish a picture and they always came out blurry unless you stayed as still as a statue. Low light shots? Forget it. All shots have to be very well lit. The video is also really bad on the N80. My review of the E70 has a sample N80 video in it and you can see the difference.

Now that I think about it, I think the pictures from my review would probably be okay to compare the cameras of the E65 and N80.
