Nokia N80: Pros/Cons and Bugs?

I'm on the brink of purchasing this phone. I just want to know the objective Pros/Cons and Bugs of this phone before I dish out my cash. I've posted in the S60 forum before comparing it to the SE k800i, but now I've decided I want a Nokia N-series phone. In stating that, I want to know which or if any other N-series phones compare to N80. My maximum price for a phone is how much the n80 is going for--600 dollars. Thanks.

Any bugs I have with mine I could live with. I do have issues relating to the short, flat, over-hard keypad, and the unsprung slide... It's now grown on me. The screen and browser are amazing, the video capture is also much better than the K800i's. It's comparable in many areas to the K800i, but is also a smartphone, and has WiFi. It is quite fat, but it's smaller than the non-smartphone SE W900i. The only phone I was considering apart from the N80 is the SE P990i, which is still not out yet.

The N80 is shorter and more compact overall than both the N70 and N90, and has a better camera too. The N91 is also huge, and has a lower res screen than the N80. You can add a 2GB MiniSD, which is a silly amount of memory for a phone. The standard music app is not as easy to use as an iPod, so I still carry my iPod as well.

Overall, it's the best example of a convergence device I can think of. There are phones that are better than the N80 at many things, but the N80 has pretty much everything, except a touchscreen and DVB-T. The N93 is superior in many ways, however, but is too large for my liking.

Thanks. I was thinking of getting the N93, but it's ridiculously big. I'm from the United States, so I'd have to buy it online. Where would be the best place to purchase the n80?

I had to pay for mine, usually phones are free on contract, I paid the equivalent of just over $200. I bought mine at the London Nokia store, and didn't really get a good deal, as it was the only place to get a black N80 at the time. I'm sure you can pick up a cheap one, as N80s tend to scare a lot of people at first, judging by some of the other threads.

It's a phone that is sure to attract a lot of people not used to smartphones, being the same dimensions as a Samsung D800 except for thickness! Actually, I used mine earlier to insure my friend's D800 online! Everyone seems to be pretty amazed by its video quality too.

I'd also consider the N73. Seems like a great all-rounder, maybe has a better camera than the N80?

Interesting. . .The other problem i have is my situation--I live in the United States. So, I can't really take advantage of any deals.
