Nokia N80 .. luv ya .. 4GB miniSD .. Yep!! : )

hey hey hey....i'm proud to announce that I gotsome lst night ...and that's a feat considering I'm married....in fact 2x.....

....this thread is becoming more appropriate for the lounge....or even worse, TFS lol!

Well, the way to do it normally would be to go through the Disk Manager - right click on My Computer, click on Manage, in the left pane click on Disk Management, in the right pane click on the removable disk and select format. In that format dialog box you can select a different Default Size - it is reported in Bytes and 4096 Bytes is 4 KiloBytes. However, I just tried formatting a small 64MB miniSD I have that came with my E70 and the Format utility told me that the format cannot be completed because the cluster size (I selected 4096 Bytes) is too small for the file system (I selected FAT32 for that). Looks like a more robust formatting utility (Partition Magic would be the obvious one to try here) is needed to try to format with FAT32 but larger cluster size. I was able to format my 64MB with FAT32 but only with a 512 Bytes (or half of a kiloByte) cluster size. Curiously, my E70 was able to read from and write to that card just fine. I don't have a 4GB miniSD card to try, however, I don't think it would work if the card is bigger than 2GB.

I have a 4gb Topram card formated to Fat32, and my E70-2 doesn't recognize the card at all (works fine in my camera).
What is interesting is that I also have a 2gb Topram card that I have formated to Fat32 and I've been using that fine. So there is more than Fat32 recognition to get it to work.

I'm not sure but I noticed in one of the reviews it states that the N95 will support 4gigs in the near future. Not sure how valid that statement was but I will try and find which one it was in and link it up.

I'm with you...I've been up since 6AM hoping for an AM delivery from X1387...still searching for the link but as you know the web has blown up with reviews....it's either mobileburn, mobilereview, engadget....It will be found though.

I'm not quite sure if that's an assumption or a fact but time will tell when someone is willing to drop a dime on it to find out for sure.
