Nokia N8 for $449.00 at Dell

yea i don't see it. is it the white space between the "call nokia" and fb/twitter buttons right?

edit: nvm, just saw it. it shows up for like a split second

Are vendors other than Nokia, e.g. Dell or Amazon, going to be offering the orange? Seems like thus far no vendors aside from Nokia have the orange or blue.

I really want an orange but an American acquaintance who tried to order direct from Nokia on my behalf couldn't get an order through. They won't take my CC, since it's Canadian, even if I ship the phone to the States. I'd rather just wait for a competent end-user reseller to offer it. Nokia may be the best in the world at managing its manufacturing its manufacturing and supply chains but they're crap retailers.

I've been watching this thread for a good while now, and really think I will eventually buy the N8.
The abandoning of Symbian by Nokia (Layoffs) does indicate a lack of future updates to me. This alone means that the N8 is worth much less than the list price to me.
I probably would have already ordered from Dell, but they are really dis-functional. The web page continues to say pre-order while they are shipping phones. I did chat with them last Thursday, and the best delivery option they would promise was a few weeks out. Of course Friday they were shipping phones. I really don't think the order department at Dell has any connection to the people receiving and shipping the phones.
The more I delay, the more I think the price on the phone will have to go lower before I buy.

He tried. The website just kept saying "Unexpected error." He tried shipping to a receiving address for me in the US and he tried shipping to himself. It wouldn't take the order.

Why would you think there will be a lack of future updates. It seems that the Symbian Foundation is dead, not Symbian within Nokia. When Ericsson and Samsung declared they won't be releasing any future Symbian phones I guess Nokia thought that keeping the SF going was not a good idea and money wasted. I have not seen any signs that the N8 would be of any risk of not receiving any future updates, quite the contrary.
